“Teachers are the backbone of any country, the pillar upon which all aspirations are converted into realities.” - Dr. APJ
NPS WHITEFIELD school auditorium looked vibrant and inviting on September 5th. The Teachers Day celebration commenced with the theme - Guru Devo Bhava. The event commenced with an address by our Principal, Dr. Reetu Thapa, who inspired the teachers to go beyond the call of duty and build a meaningful relationship with our students. She expressed that far beyond teaching subjects, teachers need to make each child understand that he or she is special. She told the teachers to always remember that within the four walls of the classroom, the nation and the next generation are being shaped. These pearls of wisdom are sure to be imbibed by our enthusiastic teachers.
Following this, our Director, Mr. Vivek Garg, shared fond memories of his experiences at NPS, Indiranagar, and how it helped to groom him both as a person and as a professional. He also offered the audience an insight into his inspiration, who was Dr. K P Gopalkrishna, the visionary behind the NPS institutions. He especially mentioned his father, who had been a role model to him during his growing years. He called upon the teachers to gear up and perform to their fullest capacity to match his vision to be the best school. Yes, unequivocally, THE BEST, is what he said he would settle for. He spoke of his vision to offer the best education in all aspects to the students. It was a truly touching and motivating address.
The directors, Mr Vivek Garg and Tanuj Garg, then proceeded for the candle lighting ceremony, accompanied by our Principal and Senior Academic mentors. Solemnity then gave way to lighter moments with a game which was thoughtfully arranged by our administration department. Teachers gave their full participation to this lively event.
This was followed by a sumptuous high tea, after which the teachers assembled on the campus for a group photograph to mark the end of this wonderful day.
