The 74th Independence Day of India was celebrated with zeal and fervour by the students and Faculty of National Public School Whitefield on 15 August 2020.
The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony at the school followed by the national anthem after which a cultural programme was presented virtually by the students.
A gamut of soul-stirring acts and feats on the theme ‘Atulya Bharat’ was exhibited. Students paid homage to freedom fighters. The audience was taken on a breath-taking panoramic ride from 1857 to 2020 where India has emerged as a superpower. The highlight of the programme was a musical presentation– ‘Time waits for none' depicting the Green revolution and the White Revolution which industrialized India’s agriculture and dairy production with the introduction of machines and advanced technology.
Mr. K.G Garg, Chairman NVT Group, addressed the august gathering. He motivated the students with his inspiring words and quoted that the society is designed and shaped by the youth. A fresh mind nurtured in the right and supportive environment is capable to uplift the nation to greater heights for which the role of parents and teachers are crucial.
The Principal, Mrs. Alka Gupta inspired the students by imbibing the value of patriotism and stating that patriotism also means- effectively, swiftly, efficiently, honestly and enthusiastically doing your best in whatever you have to do as students. She exhorted the students to make use of all the opportunities and lead the country to the pinnacle. To go confidently in the direction of their dreams and live the life they have imagined.”
It was a day full of gaiety, merriment and joy instilling the respect and reverence for the precious gift of Freedom.
