NPS Whitefield conducted a mock exercise and evacuation drill on 8th November, 2019 in the school premises to train the students and teachers in case of emergencies such as fire. The main agenda was to make everyone aware of the different ways by which fire can be extinguished, assortment of the fire extinguisher and the rapid action techniques during the fire disaster. Students were given an opportunity to learn simple strategies such as ‘Stop, Drop and Roll’ and help and move an injured person quickly from the fire affected area. The school witnessed the live demonstration by the specialists on the right use of the fire extinguishers, followed by the demonstration of the Fire Engine. The members of the Fire Services team counselled the floor duty leaders and the Staff Marshalls about the necessary steps to be taken for quick evacuation from the school building to the safe zone. The entire school team gathered in the Assembly Point after evacuation. The Life Skill Programme was concluded with the brief counselling by the Principal to the School Team at the Assembly point.
