“A book is a dream that you hold in your hand.” - Neil Gaiman
NPS Whitefield was happy to welcome Bangalore based popular author Ms Rachna Chhabria on the 27th August, 2019 who is an author at Scholastic India and Harper Collins Children’s book. She is also a well-known columnist, story writer and blogger. Rachna Chhabria has a fascination for words and is at her happiest when she is writing her stories and creating fantasy worlds for her books.
She addressed the Students of class 4 and 5 on her latest edition “Festival Stories Through The Year”. It was an interactive session where she guided the students on how to weave a story around an idea. The students were very inspired by her interactive sessions when she shared her trials and tribulations of being an author and conveyed the message to continue to keep trying. She also said that it was very important to capture those small little ideas which can later take the shape of a good story in a span of time. She also spoke to the students about her writing process.
She read out two chapters from her latest book, “Festival Stories Through The Year”. Students shared thoughts about their favorite festival. She gave the message that festivals are not to be celebrated alone, but we should also keep the underprivileged people of the society in our mind sharing our festivals with them. She ended the session with a word game followed by book signings. The talk was extremely interesting and meaningful left a profound impact on the students.
