World Environment Day was celebrated on 9 June 2021 by the students of Class 7 of National Public School Whitefield with great fanfare and exuberance. A special class assembly was held to mark this occasion stressing on the measures to be taken towards protecting Mother Earth and ensuring a safe future. The theme of the year ‘Restoration of Ecosystem’ was discussed at large by the students and they enjoyed sharing of thoughts and views. The poem ‘Dirge for Dehradun’-by Ruskin Bond was recited which holds great meaning in the present times. Students displayed their art works and also conducted an informative and interesting quiz. Students gave PowerPoint presentations on possible threats and dangers to the environment suggesting solutions for the same. The assembly was a great success and definitely added to the awareness among students to safeguard and protect their environment and planet.
