National Doctors’ Day was celebrated on June 9 by students of Class 9, at NPS Whitefield, with great fervor and gratitude to acknowledge the many sacrifices this clan of frontline warriors have made during these troubled times.
A special class assembly was held to mark this occasion, stressing on the origin of the day and its special significance in the current scenario. The theme for this year, is to "lessen the mortality of COVID-19." This encompasses spreading awareness about asymptomatic hypoxia and early aggressive therapy.
A Recorded and shared Interview with Dr. Kavitha Rajendra, gave us an insight into the struggles of being a doctor, and the roller coaster lifestyle they sustain on a daily basis.
The students made a Power point Presentation with Live commentary on the exemplary humanitarian work and recounted the countless travails these ‘Missionaries’ armed with a stethoscope face on a daily basis. A well edited video brought to light the numerous unsung heroes who have carried many an unspeakable burden. A hypothetical situation was simulated via video to imagine what life would be without them, which truly set our minds ticking.
The assembly was an eye opener and definitely added a whole new dimension to our hemispheres of awareness, and restored our faith in the essential goodness that resides in all human beings, and certainly elevated our New Age Covid Warriors to a stature befitting Honor and Respect.
