23rd January, 2020 was an exciting day in the NPS Whitefield Calendar .The “Reach Out” musical Project of SaPa which strengthened the fundamentals of music, including the basics of melody and rhythm was presented to a very young audience. The four musicians Mr. Mahesh Raghavan, a Carnatic whiz with the iPad, Ms. Bindu, a vocalist, Violinist Mr. Ambi, Mrindangam mastero and konnakol artist Mr. Akshay, shared their expertise with the audience.
The band group enthralled the Pre-primary and Grade 1 students with their winning performance and their ability to seamlessly weave elements of traditional and modern music styles. The session was totally interactive and they caught the attention of every single child. Ms. Bindu with a fun way of talking to the young audience, involved them, related to them by coming down to their level and had them sing with her. Children were captivated with the violin notes and music from Mr. Ambi, fondly referred as “Ambi Mama. Mr. Mahesh Raghavan mesmerised them playing on his iPad. Music is not just an intermingling of different sounds or rhythms, it’s a wonderful play of emotions. This was evident when we watched the ‘Thayir Sadam’ group of young musicians in action at our school auditorium.
Gayithri their Coordinator and Megha our school teacher from ‘SaPa’ had the children sing a few numbers they learnt at school. Every part of the concert evoked a thunderous applause which proved that Music is a universal language.
