Imagine our world without shapes! Quite impossible, isn’t it? Shapes are the building blocks of many bigger and complex concepts. Children of pre-primary start learning about shapes from a very young age and have a thorough understanding of the basic 2D shapes.
Our children of KG2, at NPS Whitefield had to relate the objects in the surroundings to different 2D shapes and categorize them accordingly. By doing so, students were able to find the common characteristics among different objects based on their shapes. It helped children to identify and organize visual information by comparing the different attributes of each shape. As we presented different shapes to them, students observed and recalled objects related to the shapes and showcased their creativity by drawing and colouring pictures of objects of various 2D shapes.
