Reading books play a pivotal role in exposing a child to a world of words, dreams and characters. To celebrate the joy of reading books, the Library Department of National Public School, Whitefield conducted numerous engaging, and fun filled activities to make students understand the value of reading and inculcate reading habit amongst them.
The Reading Week saw a series of age-appropriate activities right from Class 1 to Class 8. Where on one hand, there were the blooming buds of Class 1 and 2 enjoying their favourite fiction and non-fiction characters on screen as well as enacting them; on the other hand, the older ones of Classes 6, 7 and 8 interpreting the various facets of the stories they read, and toying with creative makeovers.
Overall, the purpose was to inculcate and enhance the love of reading and instil appreciation for the literary works that carry with them the legacy of the era they have been written in. Looking at the enthusiasm of the students, it was indeed a fruitful endeavour to see the students embrace the world of books.
