French Day

The National Day of France was celebrated by students of Class 8 celebrated on August 16, 2023 with zeal and enthusiasm at NPS, Whitefield. The National Day of France is celebrated on July 14 annually. The Bastille Day holds great importance for the people of France as it marks the fall of the Bastille, a fortress prison that was regarded as a symbol of authoritarianism and monarchy.

The event started with a special assembly where the school prayer was sung in French, followed by news and a speech on Bastille Day. A skit on French revolution was highlight of the assembly. The monologues on celebrities of France and a humorous dialogue between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Emmanuel Macaron, the President of France was enjoyed by all. Students presented a musical rendition of famous French Songs. It was a very enriching and motivating experience for the students as it enhanced their interest towards the language.
