Multisensory Learning-Pre-number concept Math learning through sensory activities helps in concrete learning for understanding essential concepts. Counting, recognizing, ordering, and comparing numbers are some of the essential milestones for young learners to lay the foundation for day-to-day learning of Math skills. Learning pre-number concepts and their activities facilitates children to learn to observe different attributes of quantity, shapes, positions, sizes, etc.
Students of KG1 were provided with an exploring and fun-filled opportunity to learn the pre-number concept of Small, Medium, and large with a sensory activity. Teachers guided children to shape up and mould the playdough in different shapes and size small, Medium, and large. While the children touch, felt and moulded the play dough they observed different attributes. This tactile activity not only helps children to improve their spatial awareness but also enhances their vocabulary and fine motor skills.
