“Who for their country die shall fill an honoured grave, For glory lights the soldier’s tomb, And beauty weeps the brave.” National Public School Whitefield celebrated the 76th Indian Independence Day on the 15th of August, 2022. The event was marked with the benign presence of esteemed Chief Guests - Directors Mr. Vivek Garg and Mr. Tanuj Garg, accompanied by our Principal Ms. Alka Gupta. To honour the sovereignty of our country, Mr. Vivek Garg unfurled the tricoloured-flag, which was followed by National Anthem.
The event’s first presentation was from our first-ever school band. With the Director’s remarkable speech about ‘the meaning and value of freedom’, followed was a splendid presentation of ‘Jai Ho drill’ by students in their pristine costumes. Our beloved Principal heartily thanked our chief guests and all the parents and elaborately talked about the ‘the meaning of independence for everyone’ in her speech. She thrusted upon the importance of education, value one’s rights and liberties, and how to use freedom with utmost sincerity and responsibility. She urged all to educate yourself to reach the pinnacle of success. Her inspiring words and echoes of Jai Hind filled our hearts with warmth and energy. The Inter-House Competitions were conducted where house allegiances came up in full display followed by a great beginning with ‘Ganesh Vandana’.
