Sanskrit Diwas 2022

‘The limits of my language mean the limits of my world’

‘Sanskrit Diwas’ is celebrated every year by Indians in the month of ‘Shravana’ to honour this ancient language which is also considered to be the mother of all languages. This day is a source of pride for the Indians as it is more than a language- it is something that explains our whole past.

The School fraternity at NPS, Whitefield commemorated this auspicious day with pride through an assembly based on the theme ‘SAMSKRUTAM SAMSKRUTI CHA’ (संस्कृतं संस्कृतिः च). The assembly commenced with the lighting of lamp by the Principal followed by a profound thought and a dynamic welcome dance.The rendering of songs were so melodious and divine that it genuinely felt like the languages of God. Students demonstrated and showcased the beautiful divine relation of Sanskrit and Yoga through the yoga asanas and showcased how Sanskrit pays respect to that ancient yogic tradition. The speeches were delivered with aplomb and superb clarity of diction in both English and Sanskrit. Interesting facts about Sanskrit as a language were also shared eloquently by our enthusiastic students. The day’s celebration came to a close with the Shanti mantra where the students beseeched the mantra: “Lord to bless everyone with peace.”

May we all truly live up to the theme of the day, ’SAMSKRUTAM SAMSKRUTI CHA’ (संस्कृतं संस्कृतिः च) by supporting and learning Sanskrit before this novel language becomes exterminated.
