Poetry Workshop 2022

The Classes 6,7 and 8 students of NPS Whitefield, attended a poetry workshop conducted by Ms. Tarini Chandrashekhar. The students got an opportunity to learn and explore the various devices of poetry in detail. Topics like simile, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, rhyme, alliteration and metaphor were covered. The students came up writing limericks and acrostic poems. Talking in little detail about Limerick, it jogged the memory for rhyming scheme and tickled the funny bone whereas acrostics helped the kids revise their vocabulary and promoted thinking of synonyms. Activities like Partner Poetry encouraged them to work together and create a poem as a team. The students showed great amount of enthusiasm learning these techniques and were very expressive throughout the workshop. They demonstrated a great joy and eagerness towards learning.
