It is rightly quoted by Nelson Mandela that, “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.” Mother tongue is a language that gives a definite shape to our feelings and thoughts right from our birth. Children grow up listening to it and learn to express themselves. Mother tongue develops a child's personal, social and cultural identity. Our children of Pre-Primary thoroughly enjoyed the celebration of ‘Matrubhasha Diwas’ by wearing their traditional attire. They spoke a few lines about themselves, sang songs and rhymes in their mother tongue. They took pride in sharing important facts about their state and mother language. Their sincere participation in the celebration is highly admirable.
