Kannada Rajyotsava or Karnataka Formation Day is celebrated on 1st November every year.
On this day in 1956, all the Kannada language-speaking regions of South India were merged to form the state of Karnataka. Students of Pre-Primary learnt the importance of the day and how it is celebrated by hoisting the official Karnataka flag. Our Nursery children came dressed in red and yellow and exhibited their love for their beloved state, Karnataka by making a handprint flower depicting the state flag colours which symbolizes the auspiciousness and welfare of our state. KG1 and KG2 children took the opportunity to celebrate this day by showcasing their knowledge about the state through a ‘Show and Tell’ activity. Children spoke about the different places they have visited, the culture, festivals, food and traditions followed. Few children mesmerized us with their melodious voice by singing Kannada songs related to this day. It is indeed a pride to live in a country so rich in culture and heritage and where each state has so much to speak about itself.
