15th August is here again, the whole country is decked in Tricolors. A day which reminds us of the virtues that define ‘India’, and celebrate our country’s rich history of valor and courage.
The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at NPS Whitefield, on 15 August 2021, with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The Formal Ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the Flag by the Director & the Principal, followed by Mr. Vivek Garg, Director of NPS, Whitefield addressing the gathering, where he encouraged students to look beyond themselves and be effective community dwellers.
The vibrancy of our buoyant student community culminated in a Cultural pageantry, themed, “Ek Bharat- Shrestha Bharat” to showcase India’s vast cultural multiplicity, followed with stunning visuals. The ethos of our freedom struggle which forms the foundation of Modern India, was essayed through commentary and visuals that were both vivid and striking. A plethora of dance and instrumental performances, drills and a medley, epitomized, the Diversity of India. A Power point presentation recalled to mind the varied achievements of our Nation, and the remarkable contributions made by the Armed Forces, our stalwarts, who have etched their names in the History of the world. A special segment dedicated to the ‘People of the Moment’, winners at Olympics- 2021, who have done our country proud, truly filled us with unspeakable pride. A Throwback Video, to commemorate the 124th Birth Anniversary of Netaji, recalled his contributions to the struggle for Independence. The program concluded with a Hindi poem, which exalted and proclaimed that the light in the youth if guarded and protected, can collectively set the whole nation - Aglow.
The Cultural Extravaganza was followed by the Principal of NPS Whitefield, Ms. Alka Gupta, addressing the gathering, where she urged the students, to take pride in being an Indian and reminded them to take up their Mantle of Responsibility to lead this Nation to greater heights.
The Celebrations came to a fitting closure, with the students, saluting the national Flag, with Pride in their hearts, and One thought resonating- This is a time for bold measures, this is the country, and THIS is the generation, called to make that Change.
