“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.” Leonardo da Vinci
Poetry is a beautiful way to express oneself. If we admire the sunset or feel the way a tree feels as the wind blows through its leaves, we have experienced poetry.
The students of Class 5 commenced their class assembly with an enthralling introduction to poetry. This was very well depicted through a special video prepared by a bunch of enthusiastic students, wherein they recited poems in different languages with a joyful spirit. The video stole the hearts of everyone. Students echoed the thought that poetry provides peace and serenity to our minds and souls.
This was followed by the news headlines. Thereafter, students talked about the great poets and their works. The students spoke about William Wordsworth, John Keats, Percy Bysshe Shelly and Alfred Lord Tennyson. A beautiful poem “I dream a world” was recited by one of the students. The assembly was concluded by a quiz that touched upon the beauty of poetry.
