Class 2 presented an assembly on 7 October 2020 with the theme Gandhi Jayanti. The children celebrated Bapu’s birthday with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism. The assembly began with a song ‘Raghupati Raghav Rajaram’ followed by Thought of the day and current news update in our country and around the world. Students spoke about the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi. As it is the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, this assembly held special importance. Students articulated Gandhi’s ideology and contributions towards Indian independence skillfully through various mediums like- songs, thoughts and talks. The students displayed their beautiful sketches of Mahatma Gandhi and explained the principles for an ideal life laid down by Mahatma Gandhi and importance of the charkha. Some children also sang a few bhajans which Mahatma Gandhi used to sing. Gandhiji’s three monkeys’ depiction was well explained by few students stressing the importance of seeing good, hearing good and speaking good. The entire assembly instigated the spirit of Gandhi Jayanti in classroom.
