There was excitement galore as the students of class 1 geared up for their assembly on 14 October. The children came in wearing their traditional outfits, to celebrate the festival of Dasara; symbolized as the victory of good over evil. A few students dressed up as Lord Ram and Sita too! The students made masks, crowns, puppets and designed sketches and posters related to the festival. They depicted the story behind the celebration of this festival through beautiful drawings and craft work. Students narrated the significance of the festival and how the same festival is celebrated in different parts of India; Navaratri, Durga Puja, Mysore Dasara, Golu- an assembly of dolls, Ram Leela, and the burning of the Ravana’s effigy. The little artists enjoyed every bit of their performance!
